DESCRIPTION:This short course will introduce you to the major ideas behind 
 structural equation modeling (SEM) and equip you with the knowledge necess
 ary to get started on your own analysis using this method. SEM is a valuab
 le tool beyond traditional regression models due to its flexibility\, as i
 t allows researchers to test more complex relationships among variables an
 d to account for measurement error in analysis.\n\nThis course will cover 
 the basics of:\n• Confirmatory factor analysis\n• Path analysis\n• S
 tructural equation models with latent variables\n• Evaluating indirect r
 elationships between variables\n• Using fit statistics to test competing
  hypotheses\nExamples and exercises will use the R package lavaan\, but co
 ntent from this course will be directly applicable to other programs that 
 estimate structural equation models\, such as Mplus and Stata.\n\nParticip
 ants should be familiar with regression modeling before taking this course
 . Experience using R will be helpful but is not required.\n\nRegistration 
 is required on the Odum Institute website.
