DESCRIPTION:Undergraduate students across the university are invited to par
 ticipate in Speak Up! The Annual Speech Competition at UNC\, co-hosted by 
 the Program for Public Discourse and the Department of Communication. Stud
 ents are welcome to prepare informative or persuasive speeches broadly rel
 ated to this year’s theme\, “On the Defining Issue of Our Time.” Pot
 ential formats might include policy speeches\, calls to action\, or call t
 o attention. The winner will receive a cash prize of $500. Second and thir
 d place will receive $250 and $100 respectively. Space is limited\, so ple
