DESCRIPTION:What role do friends\, classmates\, and peers play in mental he
alth? More than you might think. Edwin Fisher\, PhD\, will share how peer
support has been used around the world to strengthen mental health and wel
lbeing. From informal encouragement among friends to structured peer progr
ams in schools\, workplaces\, and health care\, Dr. Fisher will highlight
the value of peer support and mutuality in promoting social\, personal\, m
ental\, vocational\, relational and other aspects of wellbeing. This sessi

ing peer support.\n\nThe Mental Health Seminar series offers students\, gr
 aduate students\, post-doctoral fellows\, faculty\, and staff insight into
the research and practice of mental health. They create a space for learn
