Every community holds a secret map of untapped strengths, including local heroes, quiet spaces, and hidden resources that, when connected, may be leveraged for significant changes, even saving lives. Unfortunately, many people don’t know how to identify and mobilize these assets.

In an immersive, high-energy session, learn from participants in CARE4Youth, a collaboration between Carolina Across 100, the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP), and ten cross-sector collaborative teams from across North Carolina. During this session, we will help you create your own asset map for issues important to you and your community, and share how our focus on existing community strengths through asset mapping is revolutionizing local mental health outcomes.

Presenters:

  • Michael Welker, Director of Policy and Research Partnerships, ncIMPACT Initiative at the UNC School of Government
  • Abigail Holdsclaw, Lead Community-Based Researcher, ncIMPACT Initiative at the UNC School of Government

Location: School of Government, Room 2403

Eligible for CLE credit.
