As part of the professorship, Hernández will give a series of talks and events during the academic year. UNC is proud to share that the second of these lectures, “The Whites-Only Immigration Regime: 1896-1952,” will take place on February 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Duke University. Carolina held the first of these lectures during the fall 2025 semester.
This event is co-sponsored by Carolina’s departments of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies, American Studies, English & Comparative Literature, and History, the Latina/o Studies Program, and the Institute for the Study of the America, and Duke University’s Center for Documentary Studies and the Department of History.
This lecture will be hosted by the Center for Documentary Studies and the Department of History at Duke University.
