https://datascience.unc.edu/event/info-session-on-risk-management-minor/The newly established UNC Institute for Risk Management and Insurance Innovation (IRMII) is pleased to offer four new courses that will serve the proposed new minor in risk management. While final approval for the minor is pending (a decision should be made very shortly), students can enroll in the four new courses in spring 2025 in preparation for its launch. The minor will equip students with high-level analytical skills and specialized knowledge in assessing risk and designing new tools to manage emerging risks, such as extreme weather events, pandemics and cybersecurity breaches, that will be vital to addressing society’s growing risk management challenges.
An informational session related to both the courses and the minor will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. in the Rosenau Auditorium (room 133) at the Gillings School of Global Public Health. The session will feature a short presentation, Q&A and catering from Mediterranean Deli. To help us gauge the food order, please RSVP to Deb Simone (dsimone@unc.edu) by noon on Monday, Sept. 30 if you plan to attend.
Students interested in registering for any of the new courses for spring 2025 must search Connect Carolina for the following course numbers. These courses are not listed in the current course catalog but will be in June 2025.
