Join Carolina Performing Arts on October 4 at 2 p.m. for a pop-up performance with

Grammy-nominated string quartet Brooklyn Rider in the UNC Children’s Hospital lobby. This 30-minute performance will pay tribute to minimalist composer Philip Glass and include a selection of children’s folk songs.

Presented in collaboration with DooR to DooR, a hospital arts program that connects music and the arts with UNC Health, this free event is open to the public and marks the beginning of a weekend-long celebration for the shared 20th anniversaries of both Brooklyn Rider and Carolina Performing Arts.

Brooklyn Rider, a seven-time CPA performer, will also be pay tribute to Glass at CPA's first-ever performance at The Chapel of the Cross on October 4. Then, on October 6, join Brooklyn Rider at Memorial Hall for a 3 p.m. matinee of The Sandbox of Invention. This "tautly absorbing" performance explores musical creativity, dialogue, and play through the string quartet medium and features Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in C Major alongside four commissioned works.
