UNC Police is pleased to announce a partnership with the Durham Rescue Mission to host the First Responder Fun Run & Food Drive. This community event aims to support individuals experiencing homelessness and those facing food insecurity.

Join local first responders for a 2-mile fun run and walk on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the UNC-Chapel Hill Finley Track and Field Complex. People of all ages are welcome to attend. Strollers are not recommended since the run/walk will be on a gravel loop.

Participants are encouraged to bring canned food items to support the Durham Rescue Mission’s efforts to help those in need. Suggested items include canned tuna, canned fruit and vegetables, canned beans, canned soup, peanut butter, other non-perishable packaged and canned foods, etc.

No entry fee is required and free on-site parking will be available.
