APPLES Service-Learning and UNC Y will offer a presentation that includes interactive activities, real-life examples, and reflective practices to engage participants in exploring ethical service principles. It will begin with an icebreaker prompting attendees to define service, followed by a discussion of its purpose. Participants will then build an “Ethical Service Toolkit” through dynamic modules focusing on cultural humility, power dynamics, community-driven goals, and sustainable impact, enhanced by case-based scenarios and group discussions. A real-life example from a local organization will support in illustrating these concepts in action. This session will conclude with a reflection activity, where participants identify actionable steps to apply ethical principles in their service, ensuring they leave with practical tools and a commitment to responsible engagement.
