DESCRIPTION:Dialogue is an essential tool to foster cohesive communities. D
ifferent to debate\, which seeks to convince\, and negotiation that seeks
to win\, dialogue is a process of understanding. In polarized America\, co
mmunities have become more divided due to a lack of genuine listening\, bu
t dialogue can strengthen communities and foster cultures of local peace.
When we stop focusing on what we want to say or how we differ\, and start
focusing on the experiences of another\, we can see the world in new ways.
This workshop will be run by several Rotary Peace Fellows and aims to bri
ng people together to share stories of belonging\, strengthen our capacity
to listen and deepen community cohesion.\n\nPresenters:\n\nJacinta Bailey
